Agent setup
Connect Whop Trends to Cursor
Add the Whop Trends MCP server to Cursor. Cursor's agent can then search Whop products, read revenue estimates, and pull daily history.
Before you start
- Whop Trends Pro: $29/month or $228/year.
- An API key from https://whoptrends.com/dashboard/api-keys. Keys start with wt_.
- Each key allows 1,000 calls per UTC day.
One-click install
Add to CursorThe link opens Cursor, which asks you to install the server. The server has the text YOUR_API_KEY where the key goes. Replace it with your key in mcp.json (~/.cursor/mcp.json, or .cursor/mcp.json in your project). Then restart Cursor.
Setup
1. Create an API key
Open https://whoptrends.com/dashboard/api-keys and create a key. Copy it now. The full key shows once.
2. Add the server to mcp.json
Skip this step if you used the one-click link.
~/.cursor/mcp.json applies to every project. .cursor/mcp.json applies to one project and is often committed, so keep your key out of it.
~/.cursor/mcp.json
{ "mcpServers": { "whop-trends": { "url": "https://whoptrends.com/api/mcp", "headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer YOUR_API_KEY" } } } }3. Restart Cursor
Restart Cursor after you save mcp.json.
4. Add the skills (optional)
Skills tell Cursor's agent which Whop Trends tool fits a question. Run this in your project folder.
Terminal
for s in whop-market-research whop-product-analysis whop-competitive-intel; do mkdir -p .cursor/skills/$s curl -fsSL https://whoptrends.com/api/skills/$s -o .cursor/skills/$s/SKILL.md done
Check the connection
- Open Customize, then MCPs. whop-trends is listed and turned on. A yellow dot means it is still connecting or cannot connect.
- If it does not connect, open the Output panel (Cmd+Shift+U) and pick MCP Logs.
- Cursor asks before it runs a tool. Approve the first call.
First prompt
Paste this into a new chat
Use the whop-trends MCP server. List the 5 Whop products with the highest estimated monthly revenue. Then pull the daily history for the top one and tell me if it is growing.
Notes
- Sign-in without a key is not available yet. Today you paste a key.
- A 401 means the key is wrong or revoked, or your Pro plan ended.
- A 429 means too many calls: more than 25 in 10 seconds, or 1,000 in one UTC day.
