Privacy Policy - Whop Trends Data Collection & User Privacy

Last Updated: May 21, 2026

We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and share information about you when you use our website or services.

Information We Collect

When you interact with our website or services, we gather certain details, which include:

  • Basic information you voluntarily share with us, like your name and email address through our authentication provider, Clerk.
  • Aggregate usage data through Datafast Analytics, which helps us understand website traffic and page interactions. This data is collected without storing your IP address or any personal identifiers. If you start a paid checkout, we pass your Datafast visitor and session IDs to Stripe as checkout metadata so we can attribute the conversion to the right marketing source.
  • Product analytics and user behavior data through PostHog, which helps us understand how users interact with our platform and improve our services. PostHog collects anonymized usage data, events, and user properties. You can read PostHog's privacy policy here: https://posthog.com/privacy
  • API usage data when you use MCP Connect or API keys. We log which tools are called, timestamps, and success/failure status to enforce rate limits and improve the service. We do not log the content of API responses or your query parameters.
  • Font-related data through Google Fonts. When our website is accessed, the required fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which may collect usage data. However, this does not involve personal identification. For more information about Google Fonts and Privacy, please visit this page.

Payment & Subscription Information

Whop Trends Pro is a recurring subscription ($29/month or $228/year) processed by our payment processor, Stripe. Card numbers and full payment details are never stored on our servers — those live with Stripe. You can read their privacy policy at https://stripe.com/privacy.

We do store the following subscription metadata in our database so we can grant and revoke access correctly:

  • Your Stripe customer ID and subscription ID.
  • Subscription status (active, past_due, canceled, etc.) and the current billing period end date.
  • Whether the subscription is set to cancel at period end.
  • Plan type (subscription or grandfathered lifetime).

Stripe sends us webhook events whenever your subscription lifecycle changes (created, updated, renewed, payment failed, canceled). We ingest these events server-side to keep the entitlement record in sync — for example, to immediately revoke dashboard access when a subscription is canceled, or to keep access available during a temporary payment retry window.

Grandfathered Lifetime Access customers (one-time purchases made prior to May 12, 2026) have a simpler record: just the original Stripe checkout session ID and an "active" flag.

Authentication Information

We use Clerk for authentication services. Clerk handles your account credentials, email verification, and session management. You can read their privacy policy here: https://clerk.com/legal/privacy

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect about you to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve our website and services.
  • Communicate with you about your account and use of our website or services.
  • Protect the security and integrity of our website and services.
  • Process payments and grant access to premium features based on your subscription tier.

Sharing Your Information

We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes. We may share your information with third parties for the following purposes:

  • To comply with legal obligations, such as responding to a subpoena or court order.
  • To protect the rights, property, and safety of our company, customers, or others.
  • With service providers who help us operate our website (Clerk for authentication, Stripe for payments, PostHog for analytics, Datafast for marketing analytics, Railway for hosting).

Your Rights

Under the GDPR and other privacy regulations, you have certain rights with respect to your personal information, including the right to access, correct, erase, restrict, and object to the processing of your personal information. You also have the right to data portability and the right to withdraw your consent at any time. To exercise these rights, please contact us using the contact information provided below.

Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services. Subscription and billing history (Stripe IDs, invoice references, period timestamps) is retained for up to seven years after cancellation to satisfy financial recordkeeping and tax obligations, even if your account is otherwise deleted. If you wish to delete your account, please contact us at the email below, and we will process your request in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will post any changes on this page and encourage you to review the privacy policy regularly.
