Two different questions share the word "cost." What Whop charges sellers. What sellers charge buyers. This page answers both, and keeps the sources apart.

What are Whop's fees for sellers?

| Fee | Amount | When it applies | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Domestic cards | 2.7% + $0.30 | Each successful card payment | Pricing, Fees docs |
| International cards | +1.5% | Non-domestic cards | Same |
| Currency conversion | +1% | When conversion applies | Same |
| ACH debit | 1.5% (max $5) | US bank debit | Same |
| Next-day ACH payout | $2.50 | Each payout | Same |
| Instant bank payout | 4% + $1.00 | Each instant payout | Same |
| Optional tax remittance | 2% | When tax is collected | Same |
| Affiliate payout processing | 1.25% | Instant affiliate payout via Whop Payments | Same |
On a $100 domestic card charge, 2.7% + $0.30 is $3.00. That is the all-in card figure on the pages we cite. Optional tools (orchestration 0.8%, billing 0.5%, tax 2%) are extra and only when enabled.
We do not add a 3% "Discord automation" fee. Several 2026 review sites print one. Whop's public pricing page and fee docs do not. If that fee exists, it is not on the two URLs above.
For how this stacks against Discord and Skool, see Whop vs Discord vs Skool.
Does Whop take 30%?
Not as a platform commission on the pages we cite. 30% is the median affiliate commission creators offer promoters. 354,866 of 397,460 listings (89.3%) have affiliates enabled. Average commission among those is 29.2%; median is 30%. That money goes to the affiliate, not to Whop, and only when the affiliate actually drives the sale.
The old 30% marketplace cut is what older threads still quote. We cannot audit Whop's private contracts. We can say the public pricing page now leads with 2.7% + $0.30 and $0 monthly.
What do Whop products cost for buyers?
Among 282,775 paid products, the median listed price is $39. The average is $208. Free listings: 114,685 (28.9% of 397,460). Price here is max(renewal_price, initial_price) in cents, converted to dollars — one number per product, not annualized across billing periods.
| Listed price | Products | Earners | Est. MRR |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free ($0) | 114,685 | 0 | $0 |
| Under $10 | 42,105 | 3,633 | $1.46M |
| $10–$25 | 62,587 | 6,929 | $3.78M |
| $25–$50 | 58,270 | 5,652 | $5.58M |
| $50–$100 | 31,944 | 4,184 | $9.50M |
| $100–$250 | 27,434 | 3,853 | $10.10M |
| $250–$500 | 36,375 | 4,976 | $8.51M |
| $500+ | 24,060 | 3,464 | $49.17M |
The $500+ band is 6.1% of the catalog and 55.8% of estimated platform MRR ($49.2M of $88.1M). The median $39 product is not where the money sits. High-ticket listings, not $10 Discords, dominate the revenue estimate.
Free products show $0 estimated revenue because the estimate multiplies price by activity. A free product can still be a real funnel. See free vs paid.
The $10–$25 band has the most paid listings. The $25–$50 band is where the $39 median lives. Neither band is where most estimated revenue lives.
A $100 sale, line by line
Seller view, domestic card, no add-ons:
- Buyer pays $100.
- Whop's published card fee: $2.70 + $0.30 = $3.00.
- Seller receives $97.00 before payout fees and tax.
- Next-day ACH payout, if used: $2.50 on the withdrawal, not on the sale.
Buyer view: the median paid product is $39, not $100. $100 sits in the $50–$100 band (31,944 listings, $9.50M estimated MRR).
Quote 2.7% + $0.30 for what Whop charges. Quote $39 for what a typical paid listing charges. Do not mix them into one "Whop costs X" sentence.
Key Takeaways
1. Seller fee and buyer price are different datasets
The fee is Whop's published rate. The $39 median is our catalog. One is a policy page. The other is 282,775 prices.
2. Do not recycle "Whop takes 30%"
On 18 August 2026, 30% is the median affiliate offer. The public seller rate we can cite is 2.7% + $0.30, $0 monthly.
3. Revenue is in the high-ticket tail
$500+ listings are 6% of products and 56% of estimated MRR. A "cheap Whop product" and a "typical Whop dollar" are not the same object.
Methodology
Seller fees are copied from Whop's public pricing and fee documentation as of this writing. We did not add unofficial 3% figures. Buyer prices use GREATEST(renewal_price_cents, initial_price_cents) on product_with_estimates. Billing periods are mixed (weekly, monthly, yearly, one-time); we did not annualize, so a $14.99/week product lands in a different bucket than a $14.99/month product. Revenue estimates are not verified financials. Affiliate stats use global_affiliate_status = 'enabled'.
